Relaxation Massage

This technique is best known as Swedish massage. It utilizes five basic strokes in rhythmic succession to invite relaxation and balance to all body systems. Regular relaxation massage is a helpful way to relieve general muscle and joint tension, poor circulation, fatigue, and alleviate some symptoms of depression. Stimulation of the immune system also occurs allowing your body to assist in its own healing process.

Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe muscle tension and to unwind the connective tissue or fascia just below surface muscles. Various deep tissue massage techniques are delivered with sustained pressure on active “trigger points” or centers of inflamed tissue. This is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and those who have sustained physical injury.

It is common for deep tissue recipients to experience some new muscle aches for a few days post treatment. Self-care instructions will be provided by your therapist in order to obtain optimal results from your session.

Stones may be placed on certain centers of the body to promote relaxation and “melt away” stress and tension. The stones are coated in oil to move in coordination through major muscle groups and coax you into calm, relaxed state.

Hot Stone Massage cannot be used on those who are pregnant or those who have certain medical conditions. If you have questions please reach us before booking your appointment.

Surgical procedures, trauma and inflammatory responses can all create fascia pressure and discomfort. Shear sustained compression, skin rolling or tension in various directions may be applied using no lotion, oil, or machinery. This allows your therapist to correctly identify areas of restriction and where to work accordingly.
